Save a Baby’s Life (SABL) is an active student-led group who work in conjunction with Royal Life Saving Society. We teach parents basic life support for infants. The sessions include what to do in the event of an infant needing basic life support,is choking or if infant is found drowning. We train students to be able to teach these skills to parents at our sessions.

What events do we run?

  • We run teaching sessions for parents as often as every week on Mondays and/or Tuesdays during term time at Southampton General Hospital and Princess Anne Hospital.

  • We also hold outreach sessions, often at local Sure Start and other community centres for families.

  • Training sessions for students to become volunteers are held at the beginning of term.

  • All our volunteers are trained by experienced Royal Life Saving Society members. We welcome medical, nursing and midwifery students to join our ever-growing group of volunteers. Feel free to contact us for more information!
